Manfred Keil, Ph.D., an expert in comparative economics with extensive knowledge of the Inland Empire and the Coachella Valley, will deliver the 2018 annual economic report and forecast. Dr. Keil is an associate professor of economics at Claremont McKenna College and former chairman of the faculty at the college’s Robert Day School of Economics and Finance. He specializes in banking, comparative economic performance, macroeconomics, and statistics, and his research has appeared in the Journal of Macroeconomics, Oxford Economic Papers, Southern Economic Journal, and Canadian Public Policy.

Ankur Gopal, CEO of Interapt was named the 2016 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Mr. Gopal has served as a featured speaker on the subjects of IT (information technology) apprenticeships and training displaced workers to write code from rural areas. He has spoken at the 2018 TEDx Palo Alto, and Interapt has been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Politico and the Daily Show. Ankur’s hobby of being a stand-up comedian enables him to address sensitive topics in a non-threatening manner.

As President of North Dakota State University since 2014, Dean L. Bresciani, Ph.D., a national leader in higher education with over 35 years-experience is a welcomed addition to this year’s Greater Palm Springs Economic Summit. President Bresciani’s topic, “Transforming seasonal economies with higher education and state of the art bandwidth” is most relevant in today’s expanding Coachella Valley economy.
