SUN HEATING TEC Inc. (SHT), a Chinese renewable energy company that pioneered solar hot water collectors, has joined the Palm Springs iHub and will relocate a robotic assembly line to the Coachella Valley, the company founder, Jeff Cheng, announced today at the board meeting of the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership, which manages the Palm Springs iHub.
Mr. Cheng learned about the Palm Springs iHub when SHT began supplying tube assemblies for solar thermal systems to SunUp Energy, another company in the iHub incubator program. SHT has taken office space in the iHub and will occupy 5,000 square feet in the Accelerator Campus, where it will create at least 15 medium- to high-skilled jobs within two years. These employees will be involved in robot maintenance and programming, assembly, sales, and fulfillment.
