We continue our exploration of the 2020 Census population counts. Here we look at the change in population in the nine Coachella Valley cities from the 2010 census to the 2020 census. Overall, the combined nine Coachella Valley cities saw a 6.8% increase in population. Desert Hot Springs saw the highest increase, 25.3%, with Indio next at a 17.2% growth. Indian Wells saw the largest drop in population, -1.3%, with Rancho Mirage being the only other city with a decline of -1.3%. The population here increased less than for the whole of Riverside County. But local growth was higher than in the whole of California. The nine-city growth was also about even with the ten-year growth in the rest of the United States.
